My family escaped from Vietnam in a fishing boat when I was 10 years old. Growing up as an Asian American, I had always did what my parents expected of me so I got my BS in Computer Science. Although I had no passion in this field, the salary was very good that allowed me to help my parent and siblings. 13 years ago I became a mother and decided to give up my career to become a Domestic CEO for my children & hubby. Over the years, I have found another side of me which I never thought I had as a child that is I am an artist at heart. I love cooking, gardening, and nail art. These are my passions because I can do these 3 all day long without getting tired especially cooking ;-). I realized my 3 passions have a few things in common: colorful, beautiful, creative, patient, relaxing & zen; but most importantly, putting a smile on people's face. I am a self taught cook including Vietnamese food and beyond (Korean, Japanese, Thai, India, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, French). I hope to share with my readers my passion both in creation and refine food that touched my family's SOul, SIMple to make, and YUMmy to eat = to my blog SoSimYum ;-). Happy cooking y'all! ;-)
